I cam to know about this site from Outlook Money. It’s a brilliant effort taken to unite against violence again children mostly by parents, teachers. I have some a few more points to add on school admissions. I feel it’s there is big hibernating violence going on in the name of school admissions- an organized one by most schools in Kolkata. I would like to share my experience. Kindly let me know if this is the proper place. Thanks once agin to all for the great effort.
I’m also a victim of corporal punishment. I took an interview about this topic for my website. When I was searching for a photo on corporal punishment I came to know about this site. I appreciate this effort

Children-the pillars of modern India. They need to be nurtured, nourished, educated & brought up accordingly, instead of this torture.I don’t know whether the initiatives taken will help those children or not but its a giant step towards eradication of this sin.May be the people who are responsible for this heinous sin may adhere to this blog and change their profaneism towards those innocent children, and think about the faces of their own children while committing this crime. My gratitude & benevolence towards the site owner & all the best for your future endeavours. We will stand together in demolishing this crime.
I remember being bullied at school when I was a kid. It was a long time ago but I know it had a negative impact on my self confidence. It took me a long time to really get over the bullying. It’s great to see that Plan is working to make schools safer places in India and in many other parts of the world. The best way is to reinforce postive behaviours by teacher and positive peer pressure in schools. I’m proud to be a part of Plan’s work with the Learn Without Fear campaign!

I was very touched by your web site. I was subjected to many forms of school violence as a child. My thoughts are that it is both humiliating and unnecessary. Often it is the children who are most in need of help that are punished for their cries for help. It makes them feel that they are alone. This increases the cycle of fear and only leads to more problems. Since I became a Sufi I have learned that it is not possible to reach a positive result through the implementation of negative means. To physically punish is only to opt out of making a real effort to help and change something for the better. Fear, I believe is behind all forms of violence as it is portrayed in this blog. Children look fo adults to be enlightened and to do the right thing, to help, to use their wisdom. A child more than anybody knows that respect is a prize given when a person uses his strength, abilities and capabilities for the achievement of positive goals. As a child grows and realizes that there is nobody he can trust except him or herself, the cycle of frustration and desperation just grows. My personal creed is that the most important priority on the agenda of the world is the emotional welfare of children because it is here where the future really lies. A child may be from any background but if he has a set of well rounded and developed emotional tools behind him of her, they will find their way in life, each according to his or her inherant potential and have the ability to lead a happy life.
