The journey continues.
After launching the Learn without Fear campaign in six states, i.e. Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Bihar, Orissa & Andra Pradesh. Rajasthan was the seventh state where Plan launched the campaign. The launch of Learn without Fear got kick started with state level consultation in collaboration with its partners Urmul Setu, Urmul Seemant and Seva Mandir.
The expected outcome of the consultation was
- Inform the government and civil society organizations about Plan’s initiative on violence free schools.
- Involve government, NGOs, INGOs, Technical institutions like DIET, All India Primary Teachers’ Federation
- Define an action plan to take the initiative forward in the state of Rajasthan.
- Proactively monitor the situation in the state of Rajasthan to document best practices
- Making best practices available for wider dissemination, display and scale up in schools of Rajasthan.
During the course of consultation, 3 working groups were formed to take address specific issues in the state of Rajasthan.
- Working group to work on the reporting procedure and government order for the same.
- Working group to work on improving the teachers training curriculum to include child psychology and methods for positive discipline.
- Working group to document best practices and exemplary work.
At the end of the consultation, each working group came up with specific recommendations for taking forward the task assigned to them in Rajasthan.
