Anthem of Little Hearts

Monday, March 9th, 2009

The Anthem of Little Hearts is a rendition by children expressing their feelings, their fears and their determination to end the silent acceptance of abuse and  raise their voice against violence.

We have been silent for ages,
We will no longer remain so,
We will tell now tell our story to everyone,
This is the story of little hearts. This is the story of little hearts.
Mummy, I want to tell you something,
It’s often difficult to walk alone in the crowd.
Papa, I’m not able to tell,
That Uncle is bad and I’m no longer able to bear.
This is the story of little hearts. This is the story of little hearts.
Now we know what to tell,
We need to get our voices to everyone,
No one will trouble you,
No one  will make you cry,
Everyone will be able to read the minds of children
This is the story of little hearts. This is the story of little hearts.

Please Note: This is the rough translation of the essence of the song and not the song itself.

The video is a docu drama about how a child grows dull with lack of physical activity. In India parents have always emphasized on academic excellence and play and sporting activity often takes the back seat. This docu drama re-emphasizes on the need for both mental and physical activity for wholesome development.

Please note this is a drama enacted by the children based on what they see in their schools and not a recording of actual happenings. Also, the name of the children involved in shooting the video or in the video have been omitted to protect their identities
